Welcome to ScanContact.info ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our web-based contact scanning and management service ("Service") available at scancontact.info. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using ScanContact.info, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

ScanContact.info provides:

• OCR (Optical Character Recognition) scanning of business cards
• Extraction of contact information from uploaded images
• Integration with Google Sheets for contact storage
• Organization and management of contact data
• Web-based access to your contact database
• Mobile-friendly interface for on-the-go contact management

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must sign in using a valid Google account
• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service

3.2 Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for all activities under your account
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• You may not share your account with others
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

• Upload or scan inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content

5. Content and Data

5.1 Your Content

• You retain ownership of all content you upload
• You grant us a limited license to process your content for the Service
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan and store contact information
• You must comply with applicable privacy laws regarding contact data

5.2 Data Processing

• Images are temporarily processed and immediately deleted
• Contact data is stored in your personal Google Sheets
• We do not sell or share your contact data with third parties
• We maintain logs for security and debugging purposes only

6. Google Integration

Our Service integrates with Google services. By using our Service:

• You authorize us to access your Google Sheets on your behalf
• You understand that Google's Terms of Service also apply
• You can revoke access at any time through your Google account settings
• We comply with Google API Services User Data Policy
• We only access the minimum necessary Google services to provide our Service

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our Property

The Service and its original content (excluding user content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of ScanContact.info and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

7.2 Your Rights

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these Terms.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs the Site and informs users of our data collection practices.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

• We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
• The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance or updates
• We are not liable for any loss due to service unavailability

• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time
• We will provide reasonable notice of any significant changes
• Continued use after modifications constitutes acceptance of changes

10. Disclaimers and Limitations

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Accuracy of OCR text extraction
• Completeness of extracted contact information
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Merchantability

10.2 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SCANCONTACT.INFO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Damages exceeding $100 or the amount paid to us in the last 12 months

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ScanContact.info, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Your content or data
• Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@scancontact.info or through account settings.

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Extended period of inactivity (12 months)
• Request by law enforcement

12.3 Effect of Termination

• Your right to use the Service will cease immediately
• We may delete your account data after 30 days
• Contact data in your Google Sheets will remain unaffected
• Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Governing Law and Disputes

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Arkansas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13.2 Dispute Resolution

• You agree to first attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us
• If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration
• Small claims court actions are exempt from arbitration
• You agree to individual arbitration only, not class actions

14. General Provisions

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and ScanContact.info regarding the use of the Service.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14.3 Waiver

No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights under these Terms without restriction.

15. Updates to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do:

• We will update the "Effective Date" at the top
• We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Service
• Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
• If you disagree with changes, you must stop using the Service
